Education Innovation Grant

The SUO Education Innovation Committee seeks to encourage investigation of education innovations in the academic setting. Eligible applicants are SUO members in good standing. A total of $20,000 of grant funding has been allocated to support up to 4 individual projects, based on review of their proposals for merit and competition using an NIH based scoring rubric. Projects submitted should have a maximum 2-year timeline for completion. We invite applicants to apply for funding to study topics within the areas specified below and in the attached RFA.
  • Education innovation in general (i.e. surgical, didactic, or evaluative innovations)
  • Professional development
  • Leadership training
  • Institutional barriers/best practice directed at the broad mission of Academic Departments (research, education, patient care)
  • Workforce training (which may be different than professional development)
  • Workforce retention
  • Understanding and reducing burnout
  • Understanding and promoting wellness
  • Understanding and reversing workforce disparities
  • Healthcare policy

Applications are due 9/1/2019.
Award recipients will be notified prior to the Nov 22 SUO Annual Meeting
