Diversity Committee Opportunities
Diversity Liaison Listing
Consider a career in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) or Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), a surgical subspecialty with a strong emphasis on longitudinal patient-doctor relationships that encompass the entire life span. Enjoy the satisfaction of acquiring highly specialized diagnostic and surgical skills to address conditions that threaten both life (e.g. airway obstruction or cancer of the head and neck) and quality of life (e.g. hearing loss, dizziness, sinusitis, facial deformity or hoarseness). Consider this dynamic field and the possibility of contributing to the discovery of new knowledge and innovative approaches including the opportunity to participate in rewarding inter-professional and multidisciplinary collaborations.
URM Diversity Committee
The SUO, AADO and OPDO are committed to advancing the quality of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery (OHNS) care in the United States through career development strategies that promote the best possible academic milieu. The Under-represented Minority (URM) Diversity Committee supports this mission by promoting cultural competency that will attract and engage a diverse workforce. To this end our member departments have committed to working together through a network of diversity champions to welcome URM medical students who wish to explore OHNS as a potential career path through research opportunities, clinical rotations and mentorship relationships.
